Constipation šŸ˜«

I hope this isnā€™t TMI but desperately looking for advice or just solidarity - Iā€™m a FTM and 13 weeks pregnant with twins and Iā€™ve spent the past few months battling with chronic constipation thatā€™s leading to fissures and pure agony - Iā€™ve tried all the recommended things and am at a loss, worried that itā€™s only going to get worsešŸ˜£

Sena? Thatā€™s what helped my 7 day of horridness

Drs have prescribed my lactolose, get a GP appointment, it definitely helps. Even though Iā€™m still struggling, it helps me go x

Definitely speak to your GP, there are laxatives that are safe in pregnancy and lots of people take them, itā€™s a very common problem

Iā€™ve found lactulose and fybogel to help, fybogel helps to go and the lactulose is a softener so it helps to pass the stools, my midwife advised against senna and anything with senna in as it can irritate the uterus apparently, I donā€™t take either laxative every day as I donā€™t need it daily but itā€™s certainly helped when needed!

Please see your GP. 1. Ensure adequate hydration 2L water a day 2. Increase fibre in your diet (will need to be well hydrated for it for work) 3. Try some OTC laxatives 4. Stay active if youā€™re well enough to do so. 5. See your doctor about this as they can give you lots of advice especially the fissure and you donā€™t need to suffer in silence

Thank you girls! Iā€™m going to speak to my GP tomorrow and definitely try a few different things!
