Clean diaper?

If you give your baby a bath and their diaper is still dry from before the bath, do you... put the old diaper back on, it's still dry and clean, no need to waste a dry diaper OR throw out the dry diaper and put on a fresh diaper anyway??

I don’t pee in my underwear but I still change it after I shower 🤷‍♀️

@Victoria this is totally different to a clean nappy, People get shit stains and discharge in their underwear 🙄 just saying

@Victoria do you still put on new underwear if you just put on new underwear 10-15 minutes before your shower?? Also, you wear your underwear all day and have discharge and sweat and stuff, whereas a baby gets changed often

I change it just because I feel like the point of the bath is to start fresh. I wouldn't judge anyone who didn't, though, that's just my preference. Diapers are expensive. 🤷

@Aliyah sounds like you have an opinion, that’s cool. You asked others

@Shore typically people who ask others opinions, have one of their own 😊 doesn't mean if I hear a good enough argument, I'm not willing to change mine. I just think comparing changing your underwear to changing a diaper, don't work.

If it was a really short amount of time between diaper change and bath I might reuse the same one. Like 15 min

I don’t, no judgement to those who do if it’s bone dry. Nappies are expensive

I would use a clean one. Yeh a baby gets changed often but it’s still a trapped crevice. And to be a bath means nice and clean start. If was planning to bath soon I would have some nappy free time, and not put one on in between anyway.

@Aliyah babies still have sweat, oil, germs, and dead skin on their bodies that gets on the stuff they wear. That stuff gets washed away in the bath so I’m not going to put a diaper back on that had sweat, oil, germs, and dead skin when I’ve just washed all if it off

@Aliyah and all that stuff touches skin before it touches underwear or a diaper so even if u change the diaper often, it is still on their skin and can get on the diaper

@Becky why r u so pressed abt putting on a new diaper? I wasn’t trying to argue I just said what I thought my goooodness

New diaper I just feel more comfortable doing that then putting a diaper that was just on their booty and then on the floor or wherever I sat it on them lol Either way my daughter would have peed in that diaper within 10 mins so I haven’t experienced the dry diaper before bath

Depends on how long the diaper was on, with or without diaper cream and baby age. A newborn I would change without question, a crawling baby who has a better immune system I'm not so fuss if it has been just few minutes and had clothes on top....you know this diaper will be dirty soon anyway amd he will get change again

New diaper like stated above I feel the point of a bath is to be fresh and clean. I would do the same with my underwear since that is a topic on this post. I wouldn’t judge someone for doing it differently tho because I’ve debated it myself.

If it's the baby I get a new diaper. Never know if you missed poop particles or had some little dribbles that just aren't noticable. My toddler is mostly potty trained though so if he wakes up and his overnight diaper is still dry I'll save that for the next night because during the day he's consistently using the toilet and in underwear

Always new diaper. Even at the doctors office when they get weighed. I feel like diapers aren’t as breathable as underwear and while I try to wipe and clean them every diaper change there could be some left over or maybe the didn’t pee enough for it to turn colors not tryna chance it.

Imo- if you're about to give baby a bath just get them clean from the change directly before the bath then bathe immediately. Skip the diaper step if you're planning on bathing anyway. What's the point of putting on a diaper for 10 minutes, taking it off and a diaper after anyway? Ex: baby needs changed, get them clean, get bath ready they can just go without diaper for a couple mins. Right in the bath, new diaper after.

When my son was still an infant I’d put the dry diaper back on but now that he’s a toddler i wouldn’t. Couldn’t tell you why 😂 maybe because they go through more as a newborn idk just makes sense to me

always a new diaper

New. Always. I think it’s gross to put a dirty 1 back on even if it’s technically not dirty.

It depends they'll be times I'm running a bath and my son opens his bowels and has to have his nappy changed immediately, then he has a fit because he wants a fresh nappy on, then he'll yeah you better believe I'm reusing it again nappies are bloody expensive!

Clean nappy X

I put on a new one. But the amount I go through doesn’t matter anyway, I use cloth. I’ve never ever gotten down to “the last one”.

I put it back on. I'm not wasting it.

Always a new one 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nope change it to a clean one
