Baby poo

Hey, I just wondered how normal it was that my 8 week old poop is often green and watery? With my other babies their poo was more curry coloured 😅 i have googled (as you do) and from what I can tell it could be a reaction to something I am eating, but as long as it's not bloody or black i shouldn't worry too much??? Not sure if he needs checking over 🤷🏼‍♀️ Any advice would be much appreciated.

In my experience green is often a dairy intolerance. That said I am not a dr just the mom of 3 now 4 dairy intolerant babies who all ebf. Once I cleared dairy from my system the poos went curry colored and seedy like described. Dairy is not a quick elimination unfortunately taking 4-6 weeks to fully leave your system but it could be the culprit.

Oh wow I never knew that... and have been having a bit more diary than usual over last few days. I will try to eliminate or reduce my intake to see if it makes a difference 🤔 thank you

According to my Breastfeeding Specialist, green coloured poo can sometimes appear if the baby is getting mainly foremilk instead of hindmilk. The advice I was given was to ensure the breast is emptied before switching to the other breast so that the little one can get the more calorie rich hindmilk.

@Elina my lactation specialist said that it's most likely because my flow is fast and his little tummy can't process it properly so goes straight through him 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also been told a few other things.... he's not been very well this week so hoping it's more about the fact he has a bug 🙏
