RSV

I have just read a post on instagram about RSV vaccines and how they should be offered at 28 weeks (or not in my case 🙄). Just wondering if anyone has been given theirs or contacted a GP to receive one and how quickly afterwards you got it? Also you may just be hearing about this now at 38 weeks like myself 😅🙃

I had to contact my GP to get the RSV, I wasn’t offered it.. they gave me it a few days later along with the Flu vaccine ☺️

In the East of England where I am, it was offered by an inncoculation hub (separate from the GP or midwives). It seems to be done differently in every region which is really unhelpful for us all to figure out!

We are entitled but I was not offered it. Same for the flu and the covid one. I just contacted my GP to book them.

I had to repeatedly ask (my midwife, GP & hospital - none of them knew what was happening) from 28wks but didn't get it until 35wks and only because I follow my maternity unit on fb and they advertised they were starting to do vaccination sessions. No-one contacted me or offered it to me. The roll-out has been terrible (non-existent in some areas). Tbh I also haven't been offered the flu or covid jabs, but I don't think I will have them now anyway, just because I don't want to risk feeling under the weather so near to delivering (and I've had the jabs every single year so I have plenty of antibodies)

I contacted mine the earliest they could give it me was december, she would have been born by then 🙈

@Tasha I read that it may still be beneficial to give it to a breastfeeding mum (if you're planning on breastfeeding) as she'll pass the antibodies on through the milk. If they would still give it to you?

@Tasha Oh dear, my girl will be here by then too if it’s the same time frame for me 🫣

I was never contacted about RSV either and now I am having to wait until very very close to my due date to have one because my GP is inundated with flu/covid vaccinations too 😳I’m a little bit frustrated that my GP didn’t get in touch but I suppose it’s better than nothing.

Call your GP! Called mine and they booked me in the next day - rushed me through as I was already nearly 39 weeks.
