Baby accident

On Friday morning I was changing my 8 month old on her changing table as normal and my 20 month old was running about the bathroom adding to distraction. My 8 month old began peeing as soon as a I took her nappy off so I thought to myself I may aswell bath them both now as they needed one that day anyways. So, my 8 month old was playing with a packet of wipes and the bath is right next to the changing table. I quickly turned the bath on and I mean it was literally a 2 second job and like right beside the table and when I was turning myself back to the table my poor baby girl rolled off the table 😭😭😭 her cry honestly haunts me. I quickly lifted her up and screamed for my parents as they were in the house. They came straight away and my mummy phoned the hospital (phone first service) while I consoled her. I brought her to the hospital to get checked over and she is absolutely fine other than a couple bruises to the face but I honestly fail like the worst person in the world. She was back to her happy self around 15 minutes after the fall but I am honestly horrified. Such a big drop from the changing table and on to tiles 😭😭 has anyone else had anything similar happen to them and feel like the worst mummy in the world?? They deserve better than me??

Please don't beat yourself up ❤️ accidents happen and your daughter is fine! X

My daughter fell off our high bed into her head and neck about this age too. She wasn’t crawling nor very mobile. She wasn’t even near the edge of the bed but moved so fast. I felt sooo bad. The thing is it made me more cautious and it will you too, which will prevent any worse accidents because we watch them better now as a result x

I never use a changing table because baby never likes to stay still so we change on the floor, nothing wrong with putting down a changing mat on the floor. But don’t beat yourself up, accident happened, she’s fine. Just be more careful.

Bad mums don’t care about things like that. The fact you were so heartbroken and concerned should tell you all you need to know. We all make mistakes, babies are hard work and have minds of their own. You’ve got this, don’t beat yourself up. She’s already moved on and is fine xx
