Umbilical cord fell off
Yall I’m in here freaking out , my baby umbilical cord fell off ( it was attached to her shirt when I went too change her ) but the inside of her belly button look all nasty .. is it supposed to look like this ? Can I clean it ? Her damn doctor not answering the phone cause they closed .

It looks dried… I’d keep my eye on her belly button. Keep it dry and don’t put anything on it. If you’re going to give her a bath avoids getting any soap and water getting into it. And If it keeps bleeding I’d definitely go get it checked, I’d rather go in and be told it’s nothing
I would go to the ER better safe than sorry
I’d go to be safe, it looks like it could get infected easily. Maybe a med check? An ER if you have to
I am a night nurse it’s fine. Just let it air dry and if not drying pediatrician will cauterize it. Just keep baby naked and swaddled

I’d take her to the ER because it’s not supposed to look like that. It’s supposed to be dried and scabbed over when it falls off. And it looks like there’s an open wound. I wouldn’t risk it in case she gets an infection from it
