HFM

Unfortunately, you can't predict if he will get it again or if will be as bad. Fingers crossed it won't be as bad though if he does happen to get it again. Ive had it and was so poorly, but i didnt catch it from my son Xx

@Ruth do they typically get bright red spots on the roof of their mouth and inside their lips

@Suzie they can do yes. Oliver said his mouth was sore but I couldn't see anything. He actually only had a couple on his hands and few more on his feet, although very sore. It really upset his tummy. Sickness and D. When I had it, I had quite a few on hands. Only two on feet. Sores around mouth and nose xx

Avoid acidic foods xx

Maxis had it 3 times and it’s got worse every time! Last time maxi had it his mouth was so sore he didn’t eat for 3 days and we nearly ended up in hospital on a feeding tube!

@Laura his brother deffo has HFM but Elijah has got these red spots on the roof of his mouth and inside lips no spots anywhere else. Took him to the doctor who said doesn’t look like HFM but is probs viral. However with both ibuprofen and paracetamol it’s not going down and keeps spiking back up to 40 degrees. He looks so red and his eyes are gone all red. Dunno if i should take him to the hospital cus of temp. And only 1 wet nappy today. Not eating barely drinking :(

@Suzie if he has a temperature and isn’t weeing or drinking then yes go and get him checked!

Yeah maybe go and get a 2nd opinion. The chemist gave me a spray for my boys mouth and throat so he could at least eat. I think he may have had HFM twice as I think picked it off him but he seemed ok and I got the blisters 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Laura he has one or two spots pop up around his mouth since then. And he’s had half a bottle of lucozade sport. And peed a little but sitting at 39.6 just nervous to take him to a&e if they will dismis me as vital since I have a younger one I need to take care of at home and dads working so don’t want to take him up if he can be more comfortable at home. It’s so tricky

My little boy only had spots around his mouth no where else but the spray really helped his sore mouth inside. I know ur scared they will say it’s viral which I think HFM is isn’t it? How long has he had the temp for?

@Suzie book another gp appointment tell them when you book he’s not really drinking or peeing! Xx
