HV visits

I'm wondering if anyone else hasn't seen their HV since the 6-8 week mark? She did say the next official meeting would be at around 10 months to a year, but I keep seeing people saying they see them weekly? I haven't had my LG weighed since 8 weeks, I'm not concerned but there's no walk in HV services near me unless I get a bus that takes over an hour 😅

Same! I was wondering this also. I haven’t heard from my HV since the early days… perhaps we just reach out to them if we need anything instead of regular visits scheduled?

My health visitor told me she wouldn't see me again till around 1 year. I have contact details and can contact if I need her but that's it. I have managed to find scales at some playgroups and baby classes

With ours we have baby clinics in the area to weigh them or if we had any issues etc we can also contact them if we have issues/want a visit. I'm sure if you called to get them weighed they should pop out

We had a 3-4 month review but that’s it till 9-12 month one. We have baby weigh clinics at children’s centre xx

Last time I saw her was at 4 months mark and nothing more. I think next one will be 12 months. She said to me there was in the past the 6 months visit but after NHS cutting the 6 months one was abolished. 🤷

So for most cases they have 5 core appointments : Antenatal home visit Day after birth 6-8 weeks 1 year 2 years They may add more if they feel like mum or baby needs extra support or some area will provide more simply because they have the staff to do so but these are the appointments that most people will get I think the 1 year appointment though can be anywhere from 9-12 months.

We have lots of weigh clinics locally so I've seen a health visitor regularly. Baby was slow to gain weight so our HV at 6 weeks recommended we take her to be weighed at 10 weeks too (also weighed at 8 weeks by gp). That weigh in she dipped below 0.4th centile so I was told to weigh weekly and referred to IFT who found a tongue tie and told me to weigh twice a week! So from weeks 11 to about 15 we were going to the weigh clinic twice a week before we were told weekly would be okay as she'd gone up to 2nd centile. Tie was cut at 4mo and I was going weekly until our original HV called after looking at her file and said 'come see me at the weigh clinic next week and we'll see if we can reduce weigh ins to fortnightly or monthly'. I saw our HV again then and now go monthly, though may do every other month now tbh.

Same. But my sister who had her baby 6 weeks after me and live like 2 streets away had visit before baby was born and has been invited for a 6 month check too… no idea!

Nope not since 7 weeks old then it’s the 10-12 month review, I guess people see weekly who go into the drop in sessions each week, some people don’t even bother with the 10-12 month one! I just weigh my baby monthly on our scales.

In my area apparently they come around 8-10 months and then again at a year. We've had to ring them a few times to ask questions but that was when my little girl was tiny

Our HV came out around 3-4 months but this was only because we were having trouble with feeding and it had a huge impact on my mental health otherwise she wouldn’t have come, the one before that was the day after hospital and the next time we will see them is December for the 10 month review. I think the weekly visits is a new scheme that isn’t in every area. If you want to see them you will need to go to a clinic xx
