My oldest was probably closer to 11 months but she was a bald baby. My youngest is 8 months and I’ll probably wait another month and she had a full head of hair at birth
My daughter was born with a full head of hair I started putting bows (clips) at 2 months and pony’s at 3 months ( no rubber bands cause it can pull hair)
Depends how much hair she has, you don’t wanna pull it out or make it too tight, I did my little girls when she was 11 months, doesn’t last long tho cuz she soon pulls it out😂
I didn’t even put headbands till 6 months and she was born with a head full of curls lol I wouldn’t start actually styling with ponytails until one MAYBE. Their hair is so fine and fragile I don’t think it can handle the styling that child/teen/adult hair can take
I started VERY early and yes newborns lose their hair already, but this was like a whole headband print in her hair where I had the lil ones that stay on and it frayed faster than the rest of her head. Obviously it all grew back perfectly fine I mean I’m talking five years ago lol but still 😅😅😅😩 so I ended literally putting one on anytime we went out
I barely used headbands only for pictures because my baby rips them off. I started styling her hair at 6 months. I just waited until it was long enough to put in pony tails it was so short they looked like little nubs. She just turned 7 months and her hair has grown exponentially and I credit it to scalp stimulation, now that’s it’s longer my go to protective style is two strand twists. I feel like the more I put it in protective styles the faster it grows I’m just very gentle with it and I don’t use any products aside from baby oil gel to keep it becoming damaged.
It really depends on how fine your baby’s hair is and the length.
My daughter had a lotttt of hair, so I started doing ponytails at 3 months. She’s 11 months now and I can do cute hairstyles !
Depends how long it is. If it's long enough, just look for a gentle way.
I started putting my wee girls hair up at about 10/11 months simply because it wasn't long enough til then but before that I did the head band bows
