@Liv thank you, yeah I have read on how it works etc I just can’t get her to drink it. She isn’t gaining enough weight and has dropped from 91st to below 50th centile (based on her corrected age of 10 weeks) hence the hv finally agreeing that something isn’t right and prescribing this formula so it is really stressing me out 😔 I’ve spent her last 3 feeds in tears 😅
@Lauryn definitely go back to the gp and told them tell you " it's just settling in" as you know your baby a lot more better than them. Give the vanilla or any flavouring a go & see if that'll make her take more milk. Its a good thing your HV finally is helping. We had to fight the HV and GP to even consider it. If you haven't asked for a referral to the dietitian, as they had a lot of a say with my son's milk
@Liv what type of flavouring do you use? My hv is pretty good, she bypassed the gp entirely and just requested they prescribe the milk. My baby doesn’t have a lot of the signs of cmpa, no rash or anything just very wet mucus poo’s and bad trapped wind so they said to just stick with it initially but now with the low weight gain they are concerned. I feel like such a shit mum 😭
@Lauryn your not a shit! It's hard when they are like this and it will get better. I used a vanilla flavouring and i tired the strawberry milkshake powder to. Both worked for Mr lucky. But if she isn't getting any better or wouldn't take it go back to thr gp/hv d
Nutramigen milk is a foul taste. My son was on it from 8 weeks to 12 weeks old. I had to add vanilla flavouring to it. Then at the 12 week review he still wasn't agreeing to it. So we got put on Pepti milk. Which worked amazing on my son. The cow's milk protein in Nutramigen with LGG has been broken down or hydrolysed into small pieces so that they are, in most cases, less likely to cause allergic reactions. Just for your understanding x
