Constipation

My 2 week old hasn’t had a poo for 48 hours? He’s formula fed. I’ve given a warm bath, cycled his legs, massaged his tummy … should I contact GP or is there any other tips? This happened the other day he didn’t poo for 24 hours but did 2 blow outs the next day.

If you Google it the only class at constipation if it's more than 3 days. I'm doing the same thing with my girl, I can be like 36-48 hours in-between poos for her. Currently she's just over 3 weeks do can't give her anything, I think the infacol helps with her wind and trumps loads when she has it

@Jasmine thanks! I feel like a first time mum again even though this is my second 🤣 I know it’s not a major worry as he’s still having plenty of wet nappies etc, just don’t want him feeling uncomfortable. I’ll get some infacol, he does wind generally ok but if it can help in anyway I’ll try it x

Yeah 100% I hate seeing my girl uncomfortable and she spends like a goof 4/5 hours being fussy and on and off until she's finally had a poo, and it's not like it's pellets either it's a wet poo but she just finds it hard but I've read that babies bums aren't used to relaxing and passing things coz they didnt in the womb which is why they find it so hard at first

This happened to me last week with my little boy, the midwife told me to use pre-made formula as it’s got some sort of laxative in that help Them go, I have him that for a day and he went the next day xx

I have a 12 days old baby girl, and yesterday i asked the midwife about poo. I was worried that she didnt poo the entire day. What she told me shocked me to say the least. Aparently doctors find it normal for a baby not to poop a whole week. After that its considered a problem. I had a c section and wasnt able to pass anything for 4 days . I felt so sick and in pain. I cant imagine what this means for an entire week for a baby. 🥺
