We have been going since she was 6 weeks old and she loves it! Mine one doesn’t do the regular nursery rhymes and there is no pressure to join in. I was super anxious at first but now just view it as time for me and my girl, not too bothered about what anyone else is doing! You will be fine ☺️
Aw hope you both have a fun time!! Agree it gets easier once you’ve been once. I’ve found my baby is generally happy through the class if I can guarantee she naps on the way there, so give yourself time for a walk beforehand if your baby naps in the pram/carrier or even get her to have a decent nap in the car. Also I think most mums in classes are in the same boat and want to meet other mums so everyone's really friendly and welcoming. You’ll go and get chatting to a couple of other mums and see them every week, so it does get easier 😊
@Emma Cunningham @Lauryn @Hazel Aww Thankyou for the reassurance girls! Yeah I’ve put it off for couple of weeks now and my friend was meant to come with me with her LB but she just keeps cancelling and so unreliable and just feel we both really need it now .. and just to get out the house tbh! I’m sure it will be absolutely fine just so easy to overthink it isn’t it 🙈 xx
I've got my first with a new group today too and I'm feeling the same 🤦🏼♀️😂 we did go to one when he was only 10 weeks but I felt it was a bit early for him so trying again today at 4 months old! Nervy 🤣
I went to my first one last week, I was nervous too and it landed during nap time so my little boy wasn’t overly impressed but the lady reassured me that is is a baby led class and to let them feed/nap etc whenever they need it which made me feel better as I stupidly had in my head that because it was paid for he should be able to enjoy it fully. All the other babies were lay down participating in the activities and my little boy just wanted to be sat up and watch everyone 😂 This made me laugh and really took the edge off as every baby is different so please don’t put pressure on yourself. You’ll find in the moment the only person that matters is your baby and not the people around you 🥰 x
Just try to remember that at one point every mum in that group was in the same position as you are right now, for me it was anticipation of going into a room full of strangers but it's the best thing I've done for myself and my LB 👌 he absolutely loves our baby groups and gets excited when he sees the other babies that he recognises xx
Thankyou for all your advice tips and reassurance it definitely helped me today! I can confirm we both had a great time and definitely feel 100 times better, we even booked the next one 🥰 thanks girlies 🫶🏻
Ahh I was so nervous the first time I went. I get really anxious in large social situations but there were some really friendly mums there and little man enjoyed people watching. We only stayed for 45 mins because I felt a bit overwhelmed with it all, and I slipped out with the claim he needed a nap haha so if you go and it’s a bit much you can always do that! But I didn’t know any rhymes either but clapped along anyway. Good luck. I hope it goes well for you guys and you have a nice time x
I think it's just the first time walking in and then it gets a lot easier. it's not really nursery rhymes as such, certainly not ones that you'd need to know mine usually starts with the same song every week so you get to learn it quick but other than that it's different and it's more about the sensory side of things x
