Would you keep toddler out of nursery with hand foot and mouth?

NHS website says to still send them in, in wondering what you would do? Goes without saying if child felt well in themselves / no temp.

My child's nursery wouldn't let her in for a week x

Our nursery don’t allow them in

Please do not take your child into nursery with these sorts of illnesses 😭

No it's really really contagious and this is why there's such a massive spike in cases. It's a vicious circle if people keeping sending them in and taking them out in public. Also it can make some children and adults really ill, my son was hospitalised with it at just a year old x

Our nursery let's them go if they're well enough. They're contagious a few days before symptoms or the rash appear, so keeping them off is very unlikely to stop the spread.

My girls just had hand foot and mouth, she’s not in nursery but only place we went was a soft play so she definitely caught it from there. We isolated for over a week until she was all clear from it. She was very poorly and ended up going into hospital as her spots got infected round the mouth and ended up on antibiotics for a week as well. Definitely do not send your child into nursery with it.

Depends on your nursery. Mine wouldn’t let him in

Depends on your nursery. Mine wouldn’t let kids in with it

Please don’t do that. That happened at my nursery where the other parents sent the kid and there was a whole out break no one was allowed to send the kids after about a week of no symptoms and that really hurt me financially I would hate to do the same to another family.

Your little one may be well but someone else can catch it and they can be really poorly. It’s been going around where we live and one little boy ended up in hospital on IV antibiotics, it can be really nasty for some x

We had to keep her off until the rash scabbed
