Blood in Poop

Hello my baby is breastfed and I just went to change her and I saw streaks of blood in her poop. I called the advice nurse line immediately and sent them over a picture. They said nothing to be concerned about if she is acting normal and to follow up with pediatrician tomorrow morning. Has this happened to anyone and it be absolutely nothing? I am a very concerned momma right now.

Yes!!! this happened to my baby when he was around five months old or so and the signs pointed to a dairy allergy so I switched him to nutramigen and he was on it for couple of months and he was fine and the pediatrician said to try normal formula again just to see if it was a allergy or just the formula he was on, he was on kendamill originally and we switched him back to dairy formula and he’s perfectly fine now so didn’t end up being dairy, just the formula. But if your baby is breast-fed, then it might be a dairy allergy so you could cut it out of your diet just to see if that’s the case because there’s no testing for babies!!

@Morgan Okay thank you so much! I will bring this up with her pediatrician tomorrow!

this happened to my niece. She was allergic to dairy when my sister ate any dairy and breastfed her and even once she started eating food. If she had any dairy there would be blood in her poop
