Baby is not pooing

Hi. My baby is 17 weeks and she hasn’t pooed from Friday. She is exclusively breastfed. Getting super worried, she doesn’t seem upset or anything but I just want her to poop!!

It's a breastfeeding thing... BF babies can go ages without pooing. Give it another couple of days and see HV if worried. Is she uncomfortable? Xx

@Vicci she seems absolutely fine but I’m getting in my head. She’s drinking so much and lots of peeing but no pops

We only get a poo every 3/4 days from when he turned 8 weeks. I was exactly the same at first. It seems so wrong for them to wait that long doesn't it!! Xx

Both my doctor and health visitor told me to only start worrying past 5 days xx

My baby poos once every two weeks! I’ve had her checked by the gp and she’s been fine each time. I think every baby is different x

It just means your LO is absorbing everything from your breast milk, so nothing to come out if they are happy and content. Babies that are breastfed can easily go 10 days without pooing. My LO averages every 6 days since 5 weeks old. He's gone up to 12 days before with no issues. GP and HV both said for EBF asking as he isn't in pain, doesn't have a swollen hard belly, and when he does go it's not hard and he doesnt stop eating, then there's no problem.

up to 10 days is considered normal for breastfeeding babs 👶
