Baby is eating solids, how do I introduce water?

Okay so my baby's doing great eating solids but I have noticed he seems to be constipated and is straining, I've been giving him baby oatmeal as well as cream of wheat, I think he needs water obviously, what brand of water would you recommend? This is Rafael btw. 8mo on the 22nd! Yay!

My dr said at 8 month they can have 4 to 8 oz of water a day. We are starting with a tiny silicone cup (amazon) to sip from.

@Michelle do you have the link

I found oatmeal to make my baby constipated! So I stopped and will reintroduce when he’s a bit older so he can digest it better. He poops fine ever since I stopped oatmeal. So maybe you could try stopping oatmeal for a few weeks and see if that helps?

My doctor told me I can give my 8 month old little bit of prune juice or infant apple juice to help with the constipation and feed infant cereal in the morning only.

Also I use Nuk sippy cup for my little one

I use a similar silicone cup that has optional straw. I started by offering him small sips of water from bottom of my own straw (Pipette method. Hold thumb on top of straw to trap water, offer to baby and once they have lips around it, let go. This way they learn the sucking motion) It just suddenly clicked for him one day! I was stressed at first because he wasn’t seeming to drink enough and was getting constipated. Once he got it, he’s been obsessed with his water haha

My baby girl is not a water fan and plays and gargles it, then spits it out - menace 😂 Add some apple juice for flavor if need so and it’ll help with consitpation as well! I add 1 oz of apple and 3oz of water for a 4oz and if 8oz - 2oz of apple with 6oz of water! Water brand I use is Pure Baby from Walgreens!
