Immunisation

My daughters due her 8 week jabs, but I’m worried about her getting ill afterwards as I’ve heard lots of babies have.

My baby girl was a bit off after her 8 week jabs but only for a couple of days. I think she had a bit of a funny tummy as she didn't poop for 4 days after, but other than that was generally okay. I kept her dosed up with Calpol for the two days after and that seemed to help. All babies are different so some will have worse side effects but yours may be fine! 🙂

My lb was fine after his 8 week jabs just sleepier for a day or so. The 12 week ones he got a temperature for a couple of days and was grumpy but still nothing to bad z

My baby got a fever of 38.1 and just slept a lot he was fine in the end 😆 just make sure to have calpol at the ready x

My little guy slept all day, probably mostly due to the Calpol. He was a little cranky pants the next day too, but after that he was fine. Even if your little one does feel under the weather after her jabs, it’s nothing compared to how ill she’d be if she caught a one of these preventable diseases. But I totally get your apprehension. I’m militantly pro-vaccine and even I was a bit wobbly when it came to my own baby. But I still did it, because there are fewer more important things you can do for your baby’s health and wellbeing at this stage. The best way to treat your anxieties is to do as much research (in the right places) as you can. Check out this website so you can go in armed with all the info you need: https://vaccineknowledge.ox.ac.uk/home Bring someone with you for moral support because no one likes seeing their baby get upset. And if you have any questions, ask the nurse as they tend to be a bit more knowledgeable about vaccines than the average GP.
