Thank you! He’s a month old, am I able to give him tylenol? How does it come?
@Kristen you aren't really supposed to under 12 weeks, but every peds doctor has their own way of doing things and you should contact your doctor, I also wouldn't put whisky on their gums. There is also no evidence that tylonal and calpol is any different so just the safest thing to do is call your doctors office.
I can't believe we got told just to feed baby after. Sounds like it is really sore for them. Good to know cos we have an appointment soon
My daughter ended up having hers cut twice, I was just told to put her straight into the boob afterwards and she was totally fine both times. Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding?
He was so unsettled with me, wouldn’t take his dummy or a bottle whatsoever and screamed constantly, took me so long to sooth him and he calmed down for short periods (5 mins max) then screamed again. My partner comes home and he takes the dummy and bottle and sleeps. He says it’s because he can sense I’m stressed but I was singing to him and playing with him to distract him. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I complain to my partner about how he is with me and how hard being at home with him is, but he can’t see it cos baby is so opposite with him. Makes me feel like a total failure.
My little girl had hers cut twice and had a full on meltdown, wouldn’t take the bottle or dummy either. One she settled down we kept a close eye on her as she had quite a lot of blood afterwards. It was a rough night but by the morning she was like a different baby. The advice they gave us if it started bleeding again was to put pressure on with a swab they gave us. Hope he is ok x
When we got my sons done he refused to feed breast or bottle and he refused the dummy. He would only dream feed on the boob for very short time otherwise we had to syringe feed him for a few days. We also got told to get him a Oball as this is good exercise for the tongue muscle going forward. Pain wise we gave calpol as he was allowed it.
My little boy had tongue tie and at 10 weeks old he has his downs because his toe was at the front it took two snipes but the second one he screamed then took straight to a bottle had no issues after and didn’t affect him feeding attitude wise either was like nothing happened and now all he ever does is stick his tongue out. We were told could give him Calpol if necessary but to continue with exercising his mouth and tongue with a glove on and going underneath and around to make sure that the cut didn’t heal back together….he’s doing great in the moment you hate it but it’s been a positive experience xx
Yeah Tylenol and just keep on top of the meds. He won’t be in pain for too long just a day or two. And keep on top of those exercises. You could also try some cold things to teeth on like a wash cloth or something to help numb the area
