Bless her. When ours got really bad we ended up ringing the GP. They prescribed us lactulose and that got to work very quickly. It sounds like you’ve tried everything else ☹️
@Xenia thank you thats a good idea as she still loves fruit and veg purees. havent tried that one but she has a similar open cup
@Amy thank you this is reassuring, its a bit daunting thinking about having to give them medicine isnt it, after that was baby back to normal or do you have to keep it up?
My son does this too and it drives me crazy! With constipation, I give him Ella’s Kitchen Prunes and it honestly does wonders. Also, bicycle leg movements with lots of tummy massages xx
Idk if your baby is nosy like mine, but…mine only drinks a little water from her sippy cup, but loves to try and steal my water. I have a water cup thing that looks like a Stanley cup style and she likes to be sneaky and grab it and drink from the straw. That’s the only time she actually drinks a lot of water. Maybe if she sees you drinking from something like that, then she might try to do the same?
If you can get her to drink anything at all, a bit of fresh orange juice in water really gets things moving! A Dr advised us to give this when my eldest was really poorly and not staying well hydrated, he drank it from a glass tumbler because he was refusing everything else, but it had a noticeable affect on his bowels 😅
@Kassia she is very nosey and loves to play with my water bottles and cups but she just chews the rim or the straw part 😭 I will keep trying though, she doesnt seem to get how to use a straw though we have tried to show her/use yoghurt and fruit puree etc to get her to suck but she just chews
Prune pouches are great and I also use apple juice diluted with water to encourage my baby to drink. We’re also on laxatives due to constipation x
@Chloe thank you I will pick some up today!
@CeeCee Eden was like that too! She only recently started sucking on the straw (I had tried teaching her how to use one in the past, but it was unsuccessful). I guess just let her have access to your bottle, while pretending she can’t have it and she’ll figure it out eventually as you try other things in the meantime 🤣 Why are babies so stubborn 😭🤣
@CeeCee back to normal 😊 we only had to give one dose thankfully to get things moving. It’s a huge jar it comes in so we have plenty left if needs be as an absolute last resort. What usually works for us is all the P’s! Hope she gets a big 💩 out for you soon! 🤞🏼xx
@Amy thank you!! did you ever think you would be saying that 😂😂
@CeeCee no 🤣🤣 I did have a chuckle typing it too 🤣x
We use the nuk stainless steel cup and you can hold it up for them like a bottle, if that helps? When my baby was really poorly and dehydrated through refusing to eat and drink, the drs told us to use the method they use in hospital which is 5ml of water at a time, often. Usually through a syringe (like the calpol syringes). Unless baby’s hands and feet are cold, their soft spot is sunken in, they have no tears when crying and less than 2/3 wet nappies in a day then not to worry too much about dehydration. Hope this helps! X

We have also been suffering with constipation recently… 😭 it’s so hard to watch. Our gal is OBSESSED with water in a bottle! It might be because we always drink bottled water (well I do, haven’t been able to stomach tap water since I fell pregnant) but my partner refills them with tap water & Penelope literally screams with excitement when we offer it that way to her! Takes a little practice, but she’s a pro now! 🙌🏽🩷 might be a way for her to drink water if she sees you drinking that way… maybe! 🤔 Xxxx
Add some water in her food x Make a puree and add the water while blending it. For example the other day I made some rice, courgette, chicken for my little one and I blended it a little and added some extra water. Hope it helps I also use the NUK 360 cup, have you tried that one?
