Anyone's baby had a milk allergy?

Just to ask what symptoms did they show? So I changed his formula over the weekend to Mamia from Hipp, mostly as he always seemed unsettled on it, not 100%. However I stopped after the 4th bottle, as he was having a continuous cough and eyes red and patches over his forehead. I have gone back to Hipp. It's also hard to know whether he's just genuinely not well. As we all have coughs and colds in the house especially with a toddler collecting the germs from nursery. He is coughing a lot. Couldn't sleep last night due to excessive coughing

Could be a viral rash? There's no less dairy in mamia than hipp so if it's a dairy allergy it would have shown with both formulas. But if they're fine on mamia then stick with that.

We’re currently trialing a new milk as doctor suspected CMPA, he had a horrible flaky rash on his cheek, diarrhoea and a bit sicky. I’d definitely go to to the doctors though, better to try get it diagnosed now! He did say a lot of babies are having delayed allergies too!

Thanks Sophie, I thought there was a different type of protein with them. He seemed okay with the Mamia, so it's hard to know if it is that or viral, as everyone is sicky in the household..may wait for him to get better and try the Mamia again x

I would say that given his eyes look a little red and puffy it could be an allergic reaction to something. Did you change anything like washing powder, moisturiser, soap etc. ? There could also be an ingredient that is not in Hipp that IS in Mamia that doesn’t agree with him (as doesn’t make sense to be CMPA if both milks are cows milk based and he’s fine with Hipp). would send this to your health visitor or think about a GP appointment xxx

I'd see your GP for assurance but my little one had a rash like that on her chest last week and we were told it's a viral rash. She had a little cough but no other symptoms, but my husband and I both had a cold!

Thank you all for your comments. I have his injections tomorrow. So will show the nurse then x
