Odysseas?

Watching england vs greece amd the greek goalkeeper is called Odysseas. I LOVE that name! Pronounced odd-de-SEH-ass. Not Odysseus. Slightly different pronounciation. Could this be usable in uk??

You can use whatever name you want that is classic and unique, just as long as it isn’t offensive, a word name or torture the kid with symbols or numbers

I think you’d have to expect people to pronounce it as Odysseus. Not in a disrespectful way, but because it is quite a subtle difference and in everyday life (and people’s accents) there isn’t always the opportunity to correct people to that level.

You can use whatever you like but I think such a strong Greek name in an English kid is super odd sounding. As an adult, it’ll be a little difficult, imo

It’s a pretty cool name but you’d have to be strong to own it..I can also imagine that kids would call him ODDIE… or ODDBALL… or Say … oh-did-you-see-his-ass? Sorry! I quite liked the name Achilles to shorten to Archie but my Greek friend said the way I pronounced it meant scrotum/balls 😂. It has a soft sh not hard sound. I also don’t have any Greek heritage and kid will prob grow up in UK or USA so it’s tricky. Everyday I still have people screw up my name and it gets a bit old after 40+ years 😅
