Help pls!!
Hi, My baby is 4 weeks old on Monday and is terribly constipated. It’s been almost 24 hours since she has had any movement and she is visibly distressed however is still feeding like normal.
I have recently just gone on formula only because she’s a twin and it’s mentally so draining having to pump every three hours, look after twins, produce enough milk, stay on top of everything and breastfeeding just doesn’t work. They also only seem to want to go on the boob for comfort and not actually to feed.
Anyway, has anyone got any ideas or advice that could help? We have tried the windi and managed to get a tiny bit of movement and wind out but nothing else and she is still visibly uncomfortable.
Obviously if there is nothing by the morning I will be calling the GP asap, but just until then if anyone has any ideas. It’s hard at the moment though as she’s so young so evrything is limited.
Thanks :)
My girl is on anti reflux milk and was struggling massively to go. We found putting a tiny drop of pure orange juice into her formula bottle helped massively. She’s now on a small dose of laxative a day to help. Also the I LOVE YOU belly massage worked really well, a warm hot water bottle and doing tummy time on it, a warm bath and the Osteo showed me one that works well. Lay them on their back, put one hand on their chest to hold that part still, other hand hold their bottom and legs and move the lower part of their body in a circular motion, this always worked much better than bicycle legs for my girl. Usually managed to get a load of wind out which then meant she could go poo.
