I would say that’s a pretty elevated amount. Is baby spitting up frequently after feeding? How often is baby feeding? Is he chugging the bottle or are you pace feeding. My baby will be 1 month Saturday & she is still taking only 3oz. She left the hospital taking 2oz. She is half breast/bottle fed. Also, was baby showing cues that they were still hungry?

@Destiny yes she spits up frequently and throws up as well. She’s feeding 1-2 hours lately. I am pace feeding her for sure. Baby usually takes 4 oz bottles but cries after and I put my finger and she is sucking still hungry so we prep two more oz and yep 😩 makes it 6. I haven’t prepared a bottle with 6 oz but after her 4 oz she cries right after or an hour after. Like she wants to be eating 24/7

I recommend feeding her the 4oz. Make sure she gets all of her burps out & if you’re unsure, lay her down & when she wiggles the burp is usually ready. If she’s still hungry afterwards I would offer 1/2oz she’s getting around that time where she would be cluster feeding so she may be doing that. Also, do you offer a pacifier? My baby loves the tommee tippee ultra light stay put. My little one acts like she’s still hungry after her 3oz but after all of her burps are up & she’s got her paci she’s no longer showing hunger cues. I would talk to your pediatrician about adding gas drops to her bottle. That may help things settle. If you’re formula feeding I would be weary that she isn’t taking the formula well. We had to try several different formulas for my first before we found the right one.

@Destiny she actually may be doing that like you sad. Yes, but my baby doesn’t really like the paci, she spits it out. She sometimes takes it in the car only but at home no. Girl I’ve had to go from Enfamil pro to the sensitive one then Similac and they told me to not jump no more on formula. But it’s been wayyyy better with this formula than the other two but also bc she was gulping too fast and I switch the nipple to 1 and it calmed everything down

My 3 week old is regularly taking 4oz but will take 6 occasionally lol. I’m combo feeding currently because I can’t keep up with his demand. I’ve read it can be due to growth spurts. He spits up sometimes but nothing crazy.
