Early than I thought

I had our first private scan today & baby is well! Although I’ve been told I’m earlier than I thought. I thought I was 8 weeks tomorrow but they’ve said I’m 6 weeks and 3 days. Has anyone else had this and whose date should I go by?

I was told at my private scan that I was a few days behind what I KNEW was the truth as I had tracked my ovulation. They can only estimate based off size of fetus so it’s not always accurate, that’s why NHS wait for 12 weeks to estimate the due date as it’s more accurate then. I’d go by your ovulation dates for now and then when you get given your due date at 12 weeks, go by that x

Yes I had this on early scan and then it was actually corrected by 12 weeks - I am not only 3 days behind my app but before it was more than a week. I would wait for 12 weeks scan to know for sure.
