They will check over baby, take measurements etc. They won't usually write down the gender but they can tell you if you ask

Go with a full bladder. Scan for us took about 25 minutes. They look at all aspects of baby and measure multiple parts of the body. They use quite a lot of pressure sometimes to get the angles they need which left me feeling a little bruised for a few days after. They may need you to turn on your sides, get up and do some jumping about and maybe even to empty your bladder depending on babies position so they’re able to get all measurements required. If they can’t they will get you back in the following week roughly to try and get the remaining measurements. Unsure about them writing gender down as we just wanted them to tell us, but I’m sure they do. Enjoy seeing your baby again! X

I didn’t go in there with a full bladder or anything. I had some Coke before my scan and then baby was very active 😅 lady couldn’t get some measurements as he was wriggling so much, but everything went well and we got all measurements we needed and then we got told our gender there and then. I’m not sure if nhs will write it down for you

@Dominika Thankyou !!! I wasn’t sure on the gender part I just wanted to look myself with my partner when I got home but I’m sure I’ll work something out xx

I'm taking a friend with me to find out the gender so we can do a intimate reveal, they won't write it down as someone got sued for getting it wrong

Hey, scan took about 30 mins as they take a lot of measurements & check everything developing well. They wrote down the gender for me but have heard other trusts wont do this x
