Umbilical Cord

Hello, Little one’s cord has fallen 2 days ago and had a tiny bit more cord piece inside his belly button that was much more open and round in shape. Now it does look like this and it seems like it’s closing with a bit left inside. I will contact the GP anyways but wondered if anyone else had this?

My baby's was gunky for a few days after it dropped off, i just cleaned it away and it's fine now x

@Chloe his doesn’t seem gunky but that the belly button changed in shape and there’s still a tiny bit of dry bit inside which is not exposed as it was a day ago

@Zeynep sounds like it might have swollen a bit. See what the gp says xx

My little girl's is still like this a week after falling off. I've been told it's normal, just wait for it to fully heal before bathing as it needs to be kept dry. X

Totally normal, my baby had the same, gp told me until is not smelly, everything is fine. ☺️

@Laura thanks Laura! So did the rest come out from the belly button? I was hoping we could bathe him tomorrow but looks like will be a while again 😬

@Zeynep Yes. My baby was having a bath while she was like this. Obviously i was avoiding the area. xx but for your peace of mind check with the gp. 🤍

Yes, my lg had this, it’s been about 4/5 weeks now and it just heals, I had her 6 week check yesterday and she’s been given some cream just to help it heal because it’s tucked in but not a problem! X
