Please help 😫

My little one squeals as though he is hungry will take a few sips and arch his back and kick back and squeal again but the minute he straightens up he will drink more and this will keep going until he’s crying so much he won’t drink, but will fall asleep once he gets his dummy? Is he telling me he’s done or is this his tummy hurting him? Or what😭😭 For info he is on nutramigen

Depends on how old he is the answer might be different but if he’s in newborn times I would definitely burp him. Seems like he gets trapped gas and certain positions help him have less pain 🩷 good luck mama i hope this helps

@Yağmur he’s 4 months, i burp him every time he stops and he just sobs his heart out☹️ do you think i need to go up a teat size would this help him? I’m honestly at a loss of what else to do that we haven’t done 😭

Oh this actually makes even more sense! Super common to be fussy with feeding at 3-4months. I would say he might need a faster flow bottle because he wants to go back to discovering the world 🤍 always keep an eye on the wet nappies and if that’s not super off I would just try adjusting the flow. If it still continues maybe get the little guy checked. Is he clear for tongue and lip ties? Sometimes these aren’t discovered until later as they want to be more efficient with feeding 😅

@Yağmur honestly thank you so so much for your help!! I’ll try this and see if it works with him! ❤️

It sounds like colic to me??

This could be due to acid reflux, which is usually worse the first few weeks after immunisations (if he’s had that recently).

It’s colic /reflux! I use detinox colic drops in his bottles and colic calm occasionally when it’s bad Boys seem to get it more in my experience… Burp him loads in between feeds too

I had a colic baby and the definition is cries more than 5 hours a day for at least 5 days a week for more than 5 weeks often inconsolable. So I would be careful with that statement but acid reflux could definitely also be the cause, I didn’t think of that one! Reflux is tricky because the more they get it the more they want to drink as it helps with the acid but then being super full makes them even more refluxy. Keeping them up during and after feeds for a while is a great way to calm it down. Dummies also help a lot with reflux. I would also search paced feeding methods on YouTube our lactation consultant had suggested this for reflux

My question would be if he’d been sick recently or runny nose? My son was doing this and I just found out it was an ear infection from being sick

Hey. I would personally try a different sized teat and carobel in the formula. Helped my we boy x
