I tried straight out the fridge she refused it, I've been using the momcozy temperature sensor bags and doing it to that temp and she's taken it a couple of times. The only bottle she's ever taken to was a MAM one, size zero teat. She hates the Tommy tippee ones. The evening was thr only time she'd take it but now she's refusing that too. I might just have to try different combinations and see what works best, I just feel like I'm wasting so much breast milk!
I got some amazing advice on here, which helped me... Will post screen shots
1. Consistency - keep offering every single day and at different times of the day. 2. Timings - offer at different times during the feed. Even at the end as a little top up. 3. Remember any amount taken is a win and try to up the amount from the bottle each time. 3. Make sure only you (mum) is offering the bottle to start with to get baby comfortable. She will associate you with feeding. 4. Try different bottles - I found nanobebe bottles amazing, as you can squeeze it into their mouth, similar to the let down from the breast and it gives them a taste for it. 5. Give a colostrum syringe (if you have any) before the bottle to give them a taste for the feed. 6. Distract them when feeding. We found standing around and walking or putting on the tv really helped. 7. Make sure itās warm or freshly expressed. Freezing can change the taste of the milk.
8. Aim the bottle to the roof of the mouth to start the sucking reflex. If baby is getting upset, try giving them a dummy first (if using one), this should calm them enough for you to quickly swap the dummy for the bottle. 9. Do not get stressed. Babies respond to your heart rate and breathing. If you feel yourself getting stressed, stop and try again later. 10. Lie baby towards your chest, in the side lying position, as if you were going to breast feed, and then offer the bottle. They may feel this to be the more natural feeding position. I cannot stress enough how key consistency is!! Itās so tiring and so upsetting and sometimes you feel hopeless, but you will get there!!! Donāt ever feel like youāre wasting milk. Baby will need to practice to master this skill and thatās okay, thatās what your milk is for! Remember that everything is a phase and you will get through this.
Try a different teat size 0 is for newborns so itās a really slow flow try a 1 or 2 x
@Mikaila I couldnāt be bothered to scroll back and find this so I just wrote it all again šš shouldnāt have bothered hahahah
Thank you girls I will order a new bottle and try this x @Courtney I was always told to use the smallest teat as she's breastfed, so she still had to work for the milk like she does on the breast? What teat size would you recommend xx
Hey! I found that offering my guy a bottle in a conventional position was a nightmare. Heād scream! He will only have a bottle in the bouncer or the stroller. Also if I try when heās tired he will always refuses, if heās sleepy he wants the boob for comfort. Itās best when heās just woken from a nap and at his hungriest xx
@Joss I screenshotted it yesterday for a friend who was having the same issues so I had it handy! Your advice is gold š„°ā¤ xx

Have you tried different temperature milk? Room temp/fridge/warmed up? And different bottles/what teat size? Which feed do you introduce the bottle at? Might be worth trying different times. My baby has taken a bottle since 3 weeks but only at night he doesnāt like it in the day xx
