Advice on hip pain!

Hey, I’m 24 weeks and have been getting hip pain - especially at night. It’s waking me up as I have to constantly swap sides, and I’m guessing it’s only going to get worse as I get bigger. So far I’ve bought a mattress topper, the bbhugme pillow, and the babymoov sleep belt, but none of these things really work for the hips. Just wondering if anyone has any tips or found anything that has worked? Thank you :)

I have exactly same problem, it’s so painful moving over to each side night. I have found a pillow between my legs helps slightly, but no miracles found yet! X

Hey. Yes. Suffered terribly with hip pain (sorry it doesn’t get much easier to be honest) I was referred to physio by my GP. they were great. and also had some antenatal massages which really helped. Your ligaments are starting to loosen and with weight gain etc ++ it puts a lot of pressure on your joints. A pregnancy ball And preg yoga were also helpful.

Same experience, I told my OBGYN and she said my hips need realignment. I’m now having to see a physical therapist and potentially a chiropractor.

I spoke to my midwife/gp when I was pregnant and they referred me to a physio at the hospital and was given specific exercises to help when I was pregnant.

If it gets any worse (daytime too) ask your midwife to refer you to physio. Mine really helped me. I thought I'd have to start my maternity leave early as I couldn't walk during the day, but physio helped me get to 38 weeks of work, and I work on my feet all day 👍

Definitely a pillow in between your legs at night, was a game changer for me! I sometimes wake up and it’s slipped out the bed so i yank it back in 🤣

I feel this! Painful hips are the worst 😭 haven’t found anything that helps so far…

Thanks everyone! I have my midwife appointment next week so I will definitely see if they can refer me for physio ☺️

I had the exact same with my first and I’ve now got it with my second pregnancy. It’s so painful and means I am swapping sides constantly at night, in-between the 10,000 trips to the loo. I have folded a double duvet under me in bed and use the BBHugme too. It has improved with that for sure. Really hope you find things that work!
