What kind of diapers do you use and why?

I was considering cloth diapers but I already found everything so overwhelming. I was at a cultural festival this summer when my LB was 3mo, we were in the baby feeding/changing area. Saw a couple changing their baby using all reusable stuff, even wipes. It was a sweltering day and I couldn’t imagine having to carry around shitty nappies and cloths (potentially multiple) around all day. And to think how many you would need to take just in case. It made me glad of my choice put it that way

@Rhiannon we use kinder cloth diapers. They have amazing resources on their website on how to start, cleaning tips and just groups with others in the same boat. Definitely recommend if you’re still interested

I bought hundreds worth in cloth diapers only to not use them cuz the laundry room is two floors down and I could barely keep up with laundry with one baby... Now I have 2 😬🤦‍♀️ Probably my biggest regret is not being able to 😮‍💨

a mix of both. but we’ve definitely gone through periods of using disposables only sometimes it’s too much work with cloth

Disposables. I use a laundry mat still because my on-site laundry sucks and we don't have washer or dryer hookups in the apartment. I only do laundry once a week and can't imagine adding on cloth diapers and plus I would have to buy so many for the week with two in diapers.

CLoTH. Because disposables were giving him rashes and I wasn’t about to buy every brand on the shelves to see what he could tolerate so I trialled cloth and never looked back. Plus they’re super cute, buy once, no blowouts I’ve not had one blowout in cloth. Much superior to me. And he’s never played w poo or gotten his diaper off coz they don’t sag like disposables do, he can’t get his hands inside the cloth diaper as a toddler.

@Kellie we also switch because our daughter had recurring rashes. Definitely love all the cute patterns in our stash

@Carol💗💙 can definitely see that as an obstacle. We’ve been lucky enough to always have in unit washing but totally get not wanting to lug 20-30 diapers (per kid) to the laundry mat twice a week

We wanted to use reusable but were overwhelmed, and also live in an apartment with shared washer/dryer. Seemed too difficult to use the communal machines for diapers.

@Katie yeah hubby goes around raving to anyone who will listen coz how good the cloth is, he saw the rash go right in front of his eyes in the first couple days we trialled it, w no creams coz I didn’t wanna be putting cream over an already red and sore bum at that point he was screaming over any lil touch even in the bath. It went away and never came back that bad, any further redness that happened from then was because of acidic teething poops etc, every couple months. We figure it was likely chemical burn and not the average rash

Disposable. I don’t wanna deal with no poop other than when I change him. Thank you🤣

@Katie I'm technically using a form of cloth training pants for my daughter whose 3. There is called upAiry brand. And they are amazing. But my mil bought 35 different ones, and that cost a fortune. I can't imagine doing it all the time for both kids.
