All of the above. Just adding to research accessible stations before you leave. So you know which ones have elevators to get off and on. Some stations also have construction on their elevators so make sure those aren't your station. You can travel with an escalator but i find it harder than an elevator.
It’s mostly fine, try to travel during the day because people may not move over for the stroller during rush hour (some will). Also be prepared for two elevators at each station, one going to the concourse then one again going down to the platform, so that can be very slow! Not like running up and down the stairs like you used to :) And like mentioned above, not all stations have elevators, but I did get help with the stroller on the stairs from nice people at one of those stations luckily!
I didn't have a car for two mat leaves and TTC was my mode of transport. Use Google maps and map routes based on wheelchair accessibility. Give yourself buffer times. Try to travel outside of rush hours. Bring toys and snacks to entertain baby. Not going to lie, TTC riders are not always nice or downright a pain, but you can do it. Just expect no one will help you or ignore you. If there is a service stoppage, try and find a coffee shop or somewhere to wait outside of the chaos. You got this! :)
Oh ya service stoppages omg be prepared for that! Have shows free downloaded if you give your lo gets screentime.. extra clothes .. set up stroller so everything's easy for you mama.. power Bank..
Hey, people aren’t The most considerate but oh well, if you do daytime there’s lots of space. If you’ll be out for the whole day and getting steps/popping in and out of places, I found it helpful to also have my carrier with me for times when baby was fussy/switch it up for them. Have fun! Nice to change your scenery and I agree parking/getting in and out of the car is super annoying.
Thanks so much everyone really appreciate the tips and words of encouragement! Soo nice to have a big support group and people going through the same journey 🩵
I hear ya! You can do it mama. Just be prepared with everything you may need that comforts your LO (snacks, water, milk, comfort toy etc) and anything that keeps you sane too. Bring your mama bear energy too for when it's needed on the TTC journey. Stay away from platform edges, stay close to TTC officials, and know they are very helpful to get you on and off the streetcars etc. People are usually helpful too. Envision it to be a great experience and you'll have it! Have fun and focus on the positives and kindness xo
