Going through the same thing! Gas drops and gripe water. We also do warm baths every other day.
I’ve been using gas drops, it’s helping only a little bit, but I haven’t gotten to speak to his doctor since it just started yesterday late evening and they’re closed on the weekends
Our pediatrician said it’s normal. We’ve been dealing with it since we came home my little one just turned a month old. Try bicycle kicks and knees to chest too along with rubbing his belly! We’ve been trying everything!
@Addi there isn’t a night nurse? Can try an urgent care they’re usually open on Saturdays
@Genelle the pediatrics aren’t open on weekends since it’s more of a doctors office and not a hospital, and our urgent care is so slow that I don’t think it’s a big enough emergency to wait 48 hours in a waiting room just to get seen by a doctor that’s not specialized in anything baby related, at that point I’d wait till Monday to contact his pediatrician… so I guess we’re just gonna stick it out till Monday and see if he gets better

Boiled water
I just went through this last night for the first time. She’s normally good with burping and farting. But I allowed her to overly sleep yesterday and she barely released any gases. We did tummy time, walked around, fridas gas relief butt thing, gripe water, cried it out, massaged the stomach, put more pressure on her chest, then fed again. She passed out from exhaustion but started passing gas and burping again! I think more tummy time and different positions by herself helps. When she’s too comfortable her body doesn’t move the gas out.
Also go on tiktok and look up different stretches and massage movements to do to help with gas! You want them to always be burping or farting
We’ve been doing the stretches and massages, he burps perfectly fine, but his stomach is just really upset, he’s constipated but still has dirty diapers if that makes sense? I’ve been giving him gas relief hoping it helps, and he’s been sleeping on his stomach on my chest since that’s what he’s comfortable with he’ll cry non stop if he’s laying on his back and he barely wants to eat
Not sure if anyone has said this already, but my pediatrician told me to be careful using too much of the Mylicon gas drops can actually cause constipation
@Autumn I don’t use them every couple hours like you would medication, but as needed he’s only had one dose today, but i definitely didn’t know it could cause constipation! I’m iffy on medications to begin with
I was told that that what newborns are experiencing is not true constipation but they’re tightening their sphincters when trying to pass gas and poop, instead of relaxing them. They’re still just trying to learn how to work their digestive systems. Our little guy was doing great for a couple of weeks and suddenly couldn’t fart or poop without a 45 min struggle. I’ve noticed that when he’s feeding or resting he’s more relaxed and able to work it out more peacefully. Also tummy time has helped.
Have you tried the Frida windi the gas passer? Worked for ours. Also after doing stretches I would hold her in the sitting position or upright and bounce on my ball and she would be able to go.

Windi helps
Massage babies belly! With four fingers in a rainbow motion going downwards. Bicycle kicks slow and fast, then stretch legs straight and then bend them bringing knees to belly, also I hold my babies chin with one hand and bottom with the other and move her bottom in circles clockwise and counter clockwise wise. She’ll fart like crazy after doing all this and has no issue pooping! 💕
If you feel the baby’s stomach and it’s hard then it’s probably gas. Use the Frida belly rub + windi and that should help your baby poop and release the trapped gas. Make sure you have a clean diaper ready it gets messy! I also give my son bicycle kicks in between. Not sure if your baby is taking any formula, we had to switch a few times. We settled on similac alimentum and now he’s feeling so much better and sleeping better. At night we give him 1ml of gripe water and he will sleep fine afterwards. Good luck!
Gas drops mixed in with my infants bottle helps her she’s 3w old
