Did they know what name you were choosing? Me personally couldn’t name baby the same 🫣 I know loads have the same name but I’d feel like I was copying even though I’d had it before. I did have similar with my first I always wanted Ava Mae then a client of mine had a baby 2 months before and called her LG Ava Mae I was gutted to even though she was a client I still see and speak to quite a bit and again local so know of the same people. I had this name in my head before I’d even thought about getting pregnant. Luckily a couple of weeks later we came across Willow and I felt that ended up being a much better fit so we have Willow Rae now ☺️ almost like it was meant to happen.
Keep the name! Youll probably get new mom friends in the future and stop doing as many activities with the family member then regret you never picked the name you wanted for him, or it just means that one of the little boys will have a nickname when they're together 😆 My 2 best friends in high school had exactly the same first and last names 🤣
Looking at it from the other angle, if someone picked the name I'd chosen and named their baby before mine was born, I'd see it as a compliment. It must be a great name 😀
Did they know your chosen name or was it a coincidence? If 6 a family member, I find it harder to have the same name but depends on how close you are. My brother is named Leeroy, our cousin called his boy Leeroy too but they are not close. My dad didn't like it at first lol. What's the name to give you similar suggestions
I had this happen to me by a cousin I have never met but spoke to online regularly, she was due 3 days after me and we discussed names she wanted Georgina and I wanted Grace (over 10years ago now) she ended up going in to labour before me and the morning I was having my little girl she announced her baby Grace, I was so gutted as she was only Person that really knew what we were calling her, I had personalised bits and never had a different name as it was a family name on my mothers side (she was dad side) so in labour I renamed her to Bryony which was a testament to my grandfather Brian and actually it suits her so much better couldn’t imagine her being a Grace now at all!! 💖💖
This happened to us by pure coincidence in April, my brother in law used the boys name i have wanted for years. After a lot of tears we have gone for a different name. Mainly because both children would have the same first name and surname and their dads are brothers, it was just too close for us. Most people encouraged me to use the name anyway but I couldn’t do it.
Damn ....what was the name ?! ......I feel like everybody and they momma named there son Kaden after me cuz all of a sudden Kaden is popular 🤣 ....it happens that's why it's best not to tell anybody u gotta keep stuff like that to ur self
Keep the name you picked! You'll regret changing it. Loads of people have the same names and he is your son, not theirs☺️ It doesn't matter if they have the same name, explain when he's here that you had that name picked out and were set on it before they announced💙
