Have you ever tried Suckerbuster organic weaning balm?

It had such good reviews of people’s toddlers absolutely HATING the taste and not going near it again. I just tried it myself and it was horrible. Put some on and let my son go ahead. He didn’t even flinch. Had a whole nursing session w this nasty shit on. I’m out of ideas.

If anyone has any weaning tips PLEASE. He is 18mos and doesn’t do bottles or sippy cups. We do straw cups for water. He won’t take any kind of milk. Whole 2% almond soy coconut not even my pumped/frozen milk. I offer his cup with water when he tries to nurse, he throws it and falls on the floor crying. I’m not a fan of juice, especially as a bribe to wean. He doesn’t take a paci. I’m a single mom with no village so there’s no “pass him off to someone or leave the room”. When he wants to nurse he doesn’t care for snacks, will also throw them. He LIKES vinegar, hot sauce AND lemon so I can’t rub it on my nips. He will peel bandages off.

Read a weaning book for several weeks as prep and talk about it as much as possible. Their receptive language at 18 months means they will have some understanding of what you’re explaining. That doesn’t mean it won’t be a rough transition, you just have to support him through it. It’s ok if he doesn’t drink milk, it’s not strictly necessary. Especially if he has other dairy in his diet.

Tried ginger?
