Appointments (high risk)

I'm just wondering when you get moved to a high-risk pregnancy, as well as an additional scan, do you have more antenatal appointments as well?

I’m a high risk pregnancy and I get seen every 2 weeks by one hospital for general checkups and every month by the hospital my baby will be born at and my midwife sees me every other week x

Thank you. They put me high risk for low lying placenta, so not sure if I'm supposed to get any extra appointments other than the scan x

For LLP you will only get an extra scan. If the placenta is then out of the way then you’re good. If it stays low lying you should have an extra appointment to discuss mode of delivery but otherwise your care stays the same as low risk women

For low lying placenta you tend to just get given an extra scan around 34 weeks 9 times out of 10 it will move. If it doesn’t move then they will discuss further but till then it’s just treated like normal pregnancy x

Thank you x

I’d have consultant appointments after every scan (I was having them every 4 weeks), but I was high risk for other reasons x

I got extra scans and appointments and then when I gave birth (I was induced) I had more staff than usual

@Chelsea I had the same thing, basically my gynecologist asked to see me every two weeks or even less
