@Emma Clarke I really hope it will improve because it is so so difficult! I tried to put her on a sling and a carrier but she cries and doesn't want to.
@Verity mine is going to be 7 weeks tomorrow! Surprisingly my baby sleeps well at night but day time is a very different story! It's like when the sun comes out she get possessed and start crying lol! I hope it improves for you and me both!
Put her in a sling and then you can be hands free and she can be snuggled up with you. She's only 7 weeks give her a break. Edit (and give into the cuddles, before anyone else comes @@ me)
@Katy she doesn't like the sling or carrier! I tried but she cries and only wants to be held. Of course I am aware she is only 7 weeks old but after doing it all day long for two weeks, I feel tired 😫
@Katy ‘give her a break’ 🤔 there are nicer ways of giving advice, this Mum is clearly very tired and wanting some suggestions from other Mums. Not to be made to feel guilty.
@Emma Clarke yes i will speak with gp i think. She is mostly breastfed but we do give her a bottle at night so could be the reason! Thank you for your suggestions xx she is happy to be held by my husband but since he is working, he can only help in the evening.
@Yasmin thank you! ❤️ yes I was looking for suggestions since it is getting me down a bit x
@Katy clearly you haven’t had or got a fussy baby you literally would never say “give her a break” babies can be super annoying when they literally don’t stop crying and it’s absolutely okay for the mother to rant on here however she see fit to ease of some steam and ensure she gets some advice or even hope. I have had two colic babies and believe me it’s absolutely awful, it completely takes away the whole loving newborn stage my first I can’t even remember because my brain was in survival mode. Sorry but your comment has really really irritated me. Cheeky sod
Everyone has pretty much said what I was going to say, so all I can say is I hope you’re okay & you’ve got this. It’s really really hard and I promise it will get so so much better ❤️ White noise on the tv on YouTube or on your phone LOUD will help them zonk out, or pink noise which is new to me but it’s working a treat with my newborn x
I have a 7 week baby too hence being on the october group, they are all fussy. My boy wants carrying a lot of the time at the moment. Sorry if it sounded rude but I'm just saying give her a break / give in to the cuddles and snuggle her into a wrap and carry her. Think you've both taken it rather personally @Amy @Yasmin seems ironic you both having a go at someone who is also in the same boat!
And to Icognito (as I can't tag you) I get it, I didn't mean to sound rude, I think there's a big growth spurt at 7 weeks, we have the witching hours and its a bloody nightmare.
@Amy second that I use 10 hours of restaurant noises on YouTube 😂 that’s her white noise aha the white noise machine doesn’t quite cut it for her
@Katy I’m not quite sure how my comment has come across as having a go at you. Im just saying to be kinder & more understanding to those seeking advice.
Hi, I know you’ve said baby doesn’t like being in the carrier but when you’ve put her in it, have you tried bopping up and down in it a bit? As mine is usually unsettled when I put him in but then I bop up and down a bit then he’s fine. If he’s still upset, I give a feed then try again and he’s usually better x
Same here, my baby has reflux and eczema so I just pinned it on being uncomfortable. She’s 7 weeks today and has a few minutes in between fussing and crying of smiling and being chirpy but that’s all aha. She hasn’t got used to day and night either so she’ll sleep all day and awake all night🫠 I put her in my sling when I need to do things or just one arm everything which is hard aha we’ve got this 🤍
