PSA: don’t invite people over the day after your (or your kids) illness has passed.

@Alyssa 🤣 😷 my SIL invited us over on Black Friday. We don’t shop so I figured it was a good way to kill time. About an hour after I get there she tells me her daughter was violently vomiting all over her house and just woke up feeling better that morning. Now my toddler is hella sick. I didn’t go anywhere else this weekend either.

Same we went to my families for Thanksgiving left Saturday. Sunday my son was sick and now we are in the hospital tryna figure out why he’s struggling to breathe.

I feel like if they tell you beforehand, it's fine because you are choosing to take the risk. But they almost always say it when you're already together. I wasn't even sick for Thanksgiving but 3 people in my house were so I didn't go to my extended families Thanksgiving just in case I would spread it.

I hate when people are so careless about getting other people sick! Like how do you not care about the wellbeing of others?? 🥲🙃

@Khyia poor baby! I think we have croup and a stomach bug because she’s got the classic seal cough going but now she’s throwing up.

I met up with a friend to take the kiddos to the park and on the walk there she was like “oh my god child A was sick EVERYWHERE last night. Literally projectile vomit about 4 times!!” And I was just like REALLY?! Ffs!!!! But lucky my daughter didn’t catch anything 🤣

Accidentally voted I do that, no no no I’d never!

@Sarah 🎀 same. He threw up once but the hacking cough a 103 fever and he was like shaking uncontrollably.

Actually makes it worse when people are still sick and won’t tell you until you get around them 🤦🏾‍♀️

I clocked the wrong one lol. I hate people who do this, especially since my daughter is only 5 months so I'm still very wary of illness

We JUST had that, croup and gastro. Sucked. Yeah, there is an exclusion period for a reason so unless they've passed the exclusion period (at least 24 hours symptom free from gastro) then they're not well enough for guests

Omg I thought you meant like a cold or something (which I still wouldn’t invite you over without checking with you first) but vomiting ?? Absolutely not. I wouldn’t let my child play with other kids for at least 24 hours after, and even then I’d want to like, clean. Everything. Disinfect and air out before someone else came into our space. Like my parents never let us go anywhere or do anything after we were sick, were people not raised that way??

I always give it a good 72 hours because you literally never know 😂. (After we are “done “ with the sickness btw)

@Katharine stomach bugs are just a whole beast. I’m really hoping my baby doesn’t catch it.

@Cheyanne I do the same. No errands, no visitors and no visiting. Until it’s passed through the whole house

My girl had hfm the other week and literally cancelled my plans with a couple of friends cos why risk exposing others. Just rude!

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. I will cuss a mom out and lose a friend over it. I don’t even care. All I hear is you are dumb and inconsiderate. Keep your sick kids away from mine. 👿

Yeah that’s not cool. I want to say she’s genuinely a dumbass and didn’t think she was doing anything wrong since she disclosed right when you got there basically. I hope you told her how sick your daughter is now.
