We told everyone ahead of time 6 weeks! Especially because I’m due in the middle of sick season. We have to give my MIL a long heads up or she gets upset and tries to manipulate my husband (which doesn’t work lol). What our families don’t know is that we plan to not tell anyone once I’m in labor and announce the birth to everyone after it’s been a few hours to a day
@Alanna I’m a planned induction so my MIL will be down here. But I don’t plan on telling her when she’s born til after my son has met his sister and if o feel like anyone at the hospital. Which right now I don’t and my husband is on the same page as me too.
My MIL already plans to come out here the week baby is supposed to be due.. I don't really care for this, because I really wanted it to just be Dad I and baby for the first few weeks... but my man lost his first daughter after only a few hours after birth 4 years ago so the birth of our healthy son is a completely new and beautiful healing I think for both him and my MIL. I will only allow my MIL to be here because of that, just not in the room during birth.
My mil invited herself to the hospital the moment she found out I was pregnant. I’m not allowing her in the room. She gets 15 min I. The hallway. But your husband should be the one to tell her. Because she blew me off. But the minute my husband said it she agreed.
