Anyone else’s scar feel more noticeable now that their belly isn’t hanging over it.

I think it’s more open now that my belly isn’t hanging over it as my uterus has shrunk down at 5 weeks. It’s recently gotten infected and just feels more sore day to day like it’s rubbing on stuff and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been wearing maternity underwear but I don’t know what underwear now would be best. I go on holiday next week (somewhere hot) and I have no idea what I will be able to wear. Help!

High waisted bikini if you plan to be in water. After my second c section I got high waisted compression type underwear to help me through the first weeks with the jiggle of the overhang but I also think they slightly helped with the sagging of my tummy because once the swelling went my overhang wasn't as bad the 2nd time compared to the 1st time

I'm at 5 weeks myself I do feel like as my stomach goes down it feels a bit tighter and get the odd pulling pain sometimes. Would any of those strip things you can get help? I haven't used anything myself. Still wearing maternity trousers and a lot of dresses still for the comfort and don't want anything to rub. What did you do when it got infected, did you speak to the DR or Health Care visitors? Is everyone still bleeding? X

@Ally did it not rub on the scar at all? I wore some leggings last week and I’m worried that they made it sore as they were too tight but I do agree they might have helped the sag!

@Helen yeah a friend suggested those silicone strips but I think I need to wait until this infection is gone as the wound is open again a little. I’m just waiting for the swab result to know which antibiotics to take. My bleeding has only just stopped the last few days but it was still very heavy right up until the end

I think because I got them in preparation for c section recovery so they were the first pair of underwear I put on post op, I had the thick bandage on and stuff and all the meds😅 so it didn't hurt any extra so as it healed I was already used to the tightness of the underwear it didn't make much of a difference in terms of pain and they were a lot more comfortable than normal underwear and the scar is right on the bikini line where underwear would sit so normal ones dug into the scar area and then I pretty much just wore those underwear all the time until I got pregnant again 6 months later🤣 ago few weeks in first trimester bloating and I couldn't fit in the underwear anymore. Will defo be wearing them again when this baby gets out😅
