@Sarah indestructibles probably won’t be that interesting to older toddlers like she’s asking about though. They’re really more of baby books. I would just keep books inaccessible when he’s not supervised. They don’t have impulse control at that age.
@Katelynn I did the same thing about a year ago, over time he acquired more books and I didn’t stay on top of putting them somewhere safe!
There are indestructible books for toddler ages. I’d try those out
You could also hypothetically laminate all the pages of thin paper back books. Would be time consuming but maybe fun and rewarding in a weird way LOL
Normal, but put the paper books up high and make them special mommy and me books until he is ok to manage paper books on his own. Give him free access to the board books, though. I've done plenty of "book surgery" on our collection... Maybe put some "special" paper (like junk mail) in his room in a designated spot for ripping.
fabric books also are great alongside the indestructible ones https://a.co/d/8x6jh48
Yes which is why we don’t keep paper pages where he can reach in his room! They are at his reach in his play room and the living room but in his room he only has access to board books and 100% safe toys!
Yes daughter does this too, especially with pop up books lol it’s just too tempting. They’re always her fave but she just can’t help herself
@Emma same! Pop up books never last long
My about to be three year old toddler doesn't have access to paper books unless I'm reading it to him. He has gotten a lot better at not ripping them by accident/out of frustration/whatever else is going through his mind but its not worth it. He loves his books, doesn't quite get consequences yet, and books are expensive.
