@Kai thats for poor people that cant afford to go
@Lizete it's for anyone with a library card.
EarlyONcenter, library, cafe, indoor farmers market
@Kai not fair to poor ppl to think like that
@Lizete and where do you draw the line for "poor"? How do you define "poor"? Because there are many people who are not considered "poor" by one standard or another who cannot afford to go to the exhibits/places in the library card program. Should their children be denied those experiences because they're not "poor" enough to you? There's a reason the library card program is set up the way it is, you can get one pass to each place once a year and the passes come out monthly to try and make sure as many people who want to go and/or who want to take their children can.
@Lizete who exactly told you it’s only for poor people? I’ve never heard that before I’ve always heard it’s for people with a library card even a community social worker told me about it and I’ve never told her I struggle with money at all. I was connected with her for my social anxiety.
The Toronto public library is a great resource and when I signed up the librarian recommended the passes as great for all families. Note you can get four tickets when you book tickets but it’s altogether for one admission so you can consider buddying with another family if you only have one kid. Also each child is allowed one library card. Very popular attraction like CN or Ripley go fast each month but I found you can still get ROM and pioneer village tickets etc a bit later.
If you have a library card, you can get free passes to stuff, though it's hard to get some of the big ticket items like the cn tower, Ripley's aquarium, zoo, etc. It refreshes every month with new tickets but you get one pass a year for each thing
