Christmas day anxiety

Hi all, I'm just looking for some reassurance/advice. My baby boy was born on Friday and suddenly I'm thinking about Christmas and mixing with other people. Are you guys going to mix with others this Christmas or keep your distance. My current plan would be to spend the day at my parents with my inlaws and sister but I'm so anxious about winter bugs. I have a toddler at home so I know I cannot protect my newborn completely but I wanted to know if others are staying away from Christmas activities this year or carrying on? I will obviously make sure everyone is well before I attend but is this really enough?

I was really anxious about this but I agreed with my mum that Xmas will range from her bringing us food and going home again to us actually going to hers where a couple of family members will be. I have asked that if we do end up going they have to be honest and tell me of any illnesses and actually my sister has said she will be making everyone take COVID tests. Having the flexibility to decide on the day and some rules if we do go over helped me feel a little less anxious

Thanks Holley, this is really useful. I think we will do similar.

Keeping my distance, parents will probably want to come over to see my older kids but not going to any family gatherings this year

We are staying home and nobody is allowed to visit unless I decide otherwise.

@Ally this is what I want to do but I think people think I'm being extreme!
