When to bring the pram home 🏠

I’m 32 weeks and the store we have purchased a pram from has called to see when we want to collect. When is a good time to bring it home? We have gone with the travel system so obviously I know we need the car seat first. However at what point is it not bad luck to bring it home? 😂

I don’t know about the bad luck stuff but I’m due 20th Feb and we are picking ours up around mid Jan just to make sure we have it in plenty of time ☺️

The bad luck thing is an old wives thing that the older generation came up with. If you’re comfortable having it at home now then I would x

I’ve had my travel system at home for about 9 weeks now😂 there is no such thing as things being bad luck or jinxing yourself in pregnancy xx

I’ve had my pram 3yrs before I’m due 😂 but to be fair I’m just reusing my 1st babies. I’ve only ever heard it’s bad luck to buy yourself baby things before you’re pregnant? 🤔

Thanks all, I hadn’t even given it a second thought until my fiancé said ‘is it not bad luck’ 😂 I think I will collect it at the start of Jan x

I’ve had my pram since September 😂😂😂

It’s not ‘bad luck’ and I personally hate that it’s a thing still perpetuated especially as have experienced 2 earlier losses and just think women/couples don’t need any extra unnecessary pressure around what they should/shouldn’t do especially when it’s nonsense. What if you had your pram in the house and something happened, it shouldn’t even be a thought to go oh is it because of the pram. And there is no point you reach where it means everything is ok. Of course everyone should do what they feel is comfortable but there is no such thing as bad luck and really just what works for you practically. Some people don’t even have anywhere else to store a pram and like to get everything setup. For my girl, we had the pram from 28 weeks as nowhere else for it to go. She arrived safely at 42+1.

You can have your pram in your house when you want. Like Lauren said it’s not bad luck at all, I bought nothing for my twins we had no pram, no furniture etc because I was told it was bad luck and up until around a week before one twin came home from the NICU is when I got it all and I still unfortunately had to say goodbye to both my boys. I don’t say this to scare anyone or put a damper on anything but do what YOU feel comfortable with, celebrate every single little bit of buying and putting things together. This time I’ve went all out because I know that superstition is more so parents don’t walk in greeted with their baby’s stuff if something goes wrong.

Ive had my pram in the house since August… and I told close family and friends I was pregnant before 12w 😱 no such thing as jinxing your pregnancy xx

I got mine when I was five weeks pregnant 😂 only because my best friend was getting rid of hers and we got the whole system cheaply from her, but it’s just been stored away since June!

I’m due mid feb and we have had ours since beginning October 👀😂 xx

Mine kept going in and out of stock in John Lewis so I snapped that up in October and it’s been built in my cupboard since then! Don’t let the old wives tales get you! Do whatever you feel comfortable with x

I've had my pram since 12 weeks 🤣 i don't believe in the superstitious stuff. Bring it home as soon as you feel comfortable to. If something is going to go wrong in pregnancy it's going to happen whether or not you bought baby stuff or had a pram in your house before a certain time 🤷‍♀️

lol i said it wasn’t bad luck, got it at 16 weeks and today at nearly 30w my fiance just broke up with me because he’s fallen out of love hahahaha… do it when it feels right for you, plus be good to get to terms with how it folds/installing car seat etc x

@Emma I’m so sorry to hear about your losses, sending love to you. Thank you for your advice 🤍✨

@Beth good on you! It is such a special time and why shouldn’t it be shared and spent how you want it! I also shared with my close family and friends before 12 weeks. I couldn’t wait 🫶🏼

@Deanna completely get it, best to be organised and even better when it’s a great deal! 😍

@Katrina Davey better to be organised! I can’t wait to have mine home just to look at it 😂 x

@Olivia we purchased ours around then but asked the store to keep it for us. Got to get what you want while you can! I’d be so tempted to get it out and push it around the house 😂🫶🏼

@Rachel that is sadly very true, thank you for your advice 🫶🏼

@Olivia oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear that, sending my best wishes to you. My inbox is open if you want to chat 🤍✨
