Should I ask my OB tomorrow if traveling for the holiday is a good idea?

A bit of background info, we are going to travel 8 hours home from where we are working for the holidays. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and have an OB appointment tomorrow, I was thinking about asking the OB if they think its a good idea to try and make the trip. The reason I'm nervous about it is because I'll be 33 weeks when we leave and when we make the trip back, I'll be 34 weeks. The doctor is already worried about my son coming early because my daughter was born on a road trip at 36 weeks. We will be stopping halfway and getting a hotel but that's exactly how my daughter was born lol. We stopped halfway to sleep and the next morning my water broke. I don't know if I'm worrying over nothing and I'm kind of nervous to ask because if she says no, I'll feel bad because my husband doesn't get to see his family very often and christmas is a big deal for them. But I don't want my son to be born on the trip like how my daughter was, it was very difficult on us.

If you have a history I would ask. Even with stopping being in the car that long can be stressful. Could you maybe fly if that’s allowed and he drive?

@Khyia no I'm too far along to fly and that would be extra money we don't really have right now.

I asked if she felt it was okay for me to take 2hr drive for my daughter cheer comp since I was due in 2 weeks she checked my cervix said have fun be safe and we made it there and back no problem never hurts to ask

Even if they said no or yes. Why Risk yet another possible birth on a road trip? For me personally I would be paranoid to go anywhere so far along, with a history as well. And plus 8 hours driving in a car while pregnant would kill me. I sit in a chair for an hour and my back and pelvis area are screaming. Your second most always comes faster as well. Especially with your pregnancy’s being so close together. I got pregnant 3 months postpartum. My son came at 38 weeks just like his sister. But the labor lasted start to finish in 3 hours. Flew right out of me. Honestly I would think about it and the pros and cons of going this time. You can always go on this road trip in a few months after baby is born. Whatever works for you and your family tho. You know yourselves and family best. I wish you only safety and support ❤️
