Chronic illness and baby

Anyone else here suffer with a chronic illness? Most of the time I am fine and functioning relatively well but today is a bad day where I can't do much or even lift up my baby due to pain, it's so sad and I feel like such a bad mum. Thank goodness for family and friends to help out but I wish I could be there more for my baby. Anyone else have similar experiences? It tough x

Hey so I'm disabled. The pregnancy was tough on me, I had to be in every 3 days for infusions as it caused issues to some health issues I have. I've managed to avoid too many IVs since but it's hard and I was promised some additional support that never materialized. It seems like they assume you are fine if you appear to manage to juggle everything. I had to go straight back to work and juggle childcare as I do a mix of remote and in person and it was exhausting, the nursery nurses who were meant to help me with the house to make sure I had any adaptations I needed didn't do that. It's tough but it doesn't make you a bad mum. In fact even if you spend all day in bed, they are spending time with their favorite person

Thanks Felicity 💖 that's so helpful. I'm really sorry to hear you've had a hard time getting the help that you need. I hope this improves for you! It's hard being a mum and having health issues too, sounds like you doing great. I really appreciate your comment xxx

Yes! Most of the time I need support, its difficult and I’ve had to make so many adaptions because of it, my recent discovery is hip seat carriers - so useful for carry baby from room to room 😊 Also adjusting expectations has helped loads with feeling mum-guilt esp when I read about how good going outside is for baby when I’m mostly housebound 🫠

Yes the mum guilt is mad! Thanks for sharing 💕 so helpful to hear xxx
