Did your partner get a vasectomy after your baby was born?

My husband got one last June. Our kids were 2 and 4

We were going to get one directly after our third baby was born so we could just all be at home healing but my husband’s insurance was terrible so we had to wait until open enrollment and change to my insurance. He got he vasectomy when our youngest was 1.

@Raqi did he get it done while you were recovering from birth or after you has healed more?

Mine has his consultation scheduled. Our second baby is 4 months old. I didn’t want him to do it right away cause things needed to calm down from newborn craziness.

My husband will be getting one, he hasn't started the process yet though. Our youngest is 4 months old

Our second is 1.5 years old and my husband recently had the snip.

After I had healed. He couldn't lift anything for a few days after, but his downtime was minimal and his healing went great

When my first kid turned 2yo I was ready for another so even though we never wanted more than 2 kids I’ll wait till the second is at least 2yo before permanently closing that door

I want my husband to get 1. Any tips on how to convince him

Currently due with my 3rd in March and I told my husband if he ever wants to have sex again he needs to get a vasectomy so he’s scheduling it for right after the due date lol

@Vanessa personally i went with condoms till you have the snip and i have my iud lol. But also hes been pretty good about it as we both are sure we only want one, and after we did more research on the recovery process and it not being nearly as bad as the hormonal birth control ive been on for me entire adult life. Also i did bribe him with bedrest and whatever snacks he wants while recovering lol
