Do you children have unrestricted tablet/screen time?

My 5 yr old has her own tablet and is mainly on it when she's having snacks. BUT the TV is on all day. I have 4 children with my 5 yr old being the oldest. I have no way of entertaining them as we don't go out & I'm pretty neurodivergent where idk what creative things to do with them...

Sensory bins if you don’t go out I take my son out every day. Fresh air and change of scenery does us both good Painting, coloring pages, house chores. I include my toddler in house chores and cooking

Depending on how old your kids are, maybe ask them what they’re interested in learning about? You can never really go wrong with some paper and something to draw with (crayons, colored pencils, etc). Some art and some music is an easy win in my house!

I bought my son a tablet at 2 he started to use it at 3 , he’s still 3 approaching 4 and we haven’t used it for about two months now. It wasn’t monitored when we did . And tv is on child programs all day while our kids are up and around. However now that my son is turning 4 I will be taking the tv out of his room and will be restricting its use. TVs are available in the living or family room and his tablet time at the age of 4 and older will be restricted as well primarily for educational purposes. Which was pretty much true of its use for him at 3. The Kinedu app is a subscription service from birth up to the age of 6 i believe and they provide parents with a library of videos and articles of activities to engage your children with that can be done either in or outside . There are workbooks and I am purchasing my son a lot of science kits etc in addition to this there are classes that you can enroll kids into like soccer, etc

For Christmas there are all kinds of games and kits that develop children minds that are available on Amazon . It’s just about purchasing activities that are able to engage them with intention

Sometimes… if I am really stressed and just need a break, I’ll give it to her, and she’ll stay quiet and on one side of the apartment and me on the other. I don’t like having those days where after work/daycare we do not have interactions until bedtime, but I’d rather a day here or there when I’m really stressed to decompress and have some space than yell at he cuz I’m frustrated. When the TV is on, if it’s not a cartoon she doesn’t care. And it’s usually just on for background noise

My son has an unrestricted tablet . But screen time was limited at times. But during the winter time it's really hard. But I'm probably going to get back into doing a certain amount of screen time a day and doing coloring and drawing painting, playing with toys . Tv is on though all day throughout the day. He doesn't watch it all the time. He watches it when he wants to or if he's eating snacks or eating breakfast, lunch or dinner .

The tv is on sometimes in the living room sometimes childrens stuff and sometimes adults and sometimes we use alexa to play nursery rhymes or music instead and have the tv off. Most the time my 2 arent actually watching the tv its just on in the backround. My eldest (3 in jan) got a tablet last yr for her birthday and has never used it i tried on the plane and long car journeys and she didnt want it so its just sat in her room

My oldest is 7, and the tablets shut down automatically when he reaches 2 hours of use. After that I say go play and he has his sisters ( 4 and 2) always find things to do. I don't have to entertain them they pl a y a lot. And we aim to go out at least for couple hours to a park, playground or indoor if bad weather.

My 2 yr old has max 1 hr of Tv a day, but most days we don’t have it on at all. My 10 hr old has a phone, but can only have it Friday after school and on the weekend and it doesn’t go up to her room. Before she had a tablet and she had very limited time on it. Honestly I don’t actively entertain my toddler all day, she goes and finds things to do or comes to me with what she wants to do. I also had an almost 4 month old. We did have less restricted time on Tv, but I found her behaviour was impacted and she couldn’t entertain herself as well either. We do a detox week now and again as well, so no screens at all for a week to reset.

Oml no lol After our boys turned 4 I let them watch Little Bear a couple times a week when I’m cleaning. No television in the house, we just play music or they listen to their Tonies. We have lessons at home, they paint, practice throwing and catching, we make sensory bins, etc. if they got to watch screens all day I think they would both have mental breakdowns 😂
