I engage with my daughter but I also use tv/tablets. I think it’s about having a balance. Sometimes I need me time, sometimes I need to bathe or cook or clean and I need her preoccupied so I can do it quickly.
It’s about balance. I engage with my 3 year old, we play with her kitchen set and with her babies & have tea parties in her tent, but then she also enjoys having the tv on, although she carries on playing while it’s on, so it’s more for background noise 😅 but this also does help for when we have other responsibilities alongside caring for our children x
Idk I don't know any parents who don't play with their kids at ALL. But I'm sure they're out there. Screen time is a spectrum and unless you're living with another parent 24/7 it's kinda hard to gauge how much they play with their kids
