Stress test

I have a low risk pregnancy but has anyone else’s OBs had them come in for a 30 min stress test? It seems to be routine with my doctor at 36 weeks but I never had it done with any other pregnancy. This is a new doctor this pregnancy so I’m not sure what they are looking for in this test?

I’m high risk so I’ve been getting them since 32w as a weekly routine thing! I wouldn’t be worried it’s usually just to monitor baby’s heart rate when they move to see if it’s normal. If you’re having contractions it’ll tell them that also.

@Elizabeth thank you! Is it just like that fetal monitor they wrap around your belly?

@Sarah Jean yess! It’s just 2 little monitors on your belly. It’s quick and easy.

@Elizabeth ok thank you so much!! I hope you have a beautiful delivery, we are soo close ❤️

They scheduled these for me at 37 and 38 weeks and it seems routine at my doctors office too.

@Jennifer ok thanks so much!

I loved my non stress tests! Definitely a peace of mind knowing baby boy is active

NSTs aka non stress tests is a very simple test where they use two little monitors to check how reactive the baby is within a 20 to 30 minute time frame. If the baby isnt reactive a certain amount if times within that time frame they may have you eat or drink something sugary to get the baby to move or they may send you for further monitoring.
