@Courtney omg high chair is genius!
Rubbing alcohol will remove crayon from the walls.
We also sometimes do high chair that way it’s obvious if he starts to get down and I can take the crayons from him
My daughter has a booster seat — instead of a high chair it’s like an attachment to our regular dining chairs and then I just strap her in, throw on her smock and let her go crazy with paint! Lasts about 20 min .. but worth it!
I've just accepted that the colors on the walls and doors isn't going to be there forever 🥹 or the paint on the wall or her chair. I like my daughter to be creative. But I also have a set up on her little table where I put disposable place mats whenever we do paint. I do love painting and coloring with her but I also don't feel any type of way if it gets on the walls or floor.
@Jess I should mention we are in an apartment 😅
We have the washable crayola crayons and so far it has come off of everything! Mostly it’s been her clothes and the table. I don’t think she’s gotten it on the wall yet. The rule is she has to stay at the table when she’s coloring. She’s mostly okay with that, but I will say she gets bored of coloring pretty quickly.
I only keep washable markets and crayons out at all times for her to play with. More messy things she does in her high chair. She sits at the table with us now in her chair without the tray, so ill usually bring her chair into the kitchen after dinner, put on the tray and give her some crafts to work on while i clean up dinner then clean up her lol
@Yasmeen we actually bought this booster seat when we were living an apartment because we kept tripping over her high chair.. then she could eat with us too & has made her an awesome eater— win win!! Assuming you have like a small table or something you eat at.. if not and you just have like a countertop overhang with stools they also have a “high chair” that attaches to like 5” of overhang!
Up to this point we have been doing the same thing and only let our almost 22 month old use the mess free markers. Her grandparents are getting her an easel for Christmas and I plan to let her start using crayons and watercolors only when coloring at the easel. I can try to keep it more contained that way. We have also let her color before in the high chair which keeps her from being able to color on furniture or walls
